Kent Schools Individual Table Tennis Tournament 2020

This year we had two age groups, U13’s and U16’s competing at the Kent Schools Individual Table Tennis Tournament at the Howard School.

In each age group they were put into mini leagues which decided what players would progress through to the main event or the plate competition. The U16’s had some very tough matches as they had to play against England ranked and county players. Katie was successful in getting through to the main competition and put in a great performance against these players where she came 4th.  Scarlett and Stephanie played in a closely fought match against each other in the plate competition. They were successful in coming 2nd and 3rd respectively to win the silver and bronze medal.

In the U13’s Lily won all her matches to get to the final where she played a tightly contested match against a strong opponent. She was unlucky not to win and gain a place representing Kent in the National Individual Finals in Wolverhampton.  In the plate competition Phoebe and Charlotte fought hard in their group matches and won silver and bronze medals respectively.

Well done to all the girls that competed - another successful event for Thomas Aveling students.
