Welcome to Year 9

This is your most important year at Thomas Aveling so far.

You will be starting your GCSE Options that you will study for three years inmost cases. Remember, every piece of work you do now will be preparing you for success at the end of Year 10 or 11.

Good study skills are essential this year as well as full attendance. Many important topics will be covered in all lessons that will be the building blocks for your GCSE exams and vocational qualifications.

Staff will be more than happy to help you after school, so check the after-school activities sheet each term.

But school isn't just about exams - Year 9 will take on the important role of Prefects for the first time and there are many other opportunities to get involved in school life through the School Council, sports, music, drama and much more.
