Thomas Aveling’s Debating Competition

Year 8 students Aiden, Neve and Oliver participated in a Pixl Edge debating competition in London recently, where they competed in the Regional Championships against other schools from London and the South East.

The team were debating issues such as junk food tax and whether national treasures should be kept in the countries of origin or elsewhere.

Mr Morgan said ‘They did very well considering they were up against mostly Year9 students. They won one debate and narrowly lost two. They did very well and will be very experienced when they take part again next year, where hopefully they will get to the final.’
