Extreme Reading Competition 2017/2018

Thomas Aveling students were recently challenged by the English and Library departments to take a picture of themselves reading in extreme places!

The Catch Me Reading Campaign ran from Monday 18th December 2017 until Friday 5th January 2018.

A great selection of pictures were sent in and the lucky winners were:

1. Kian – Year 8
2. Bradon-Lee – Year 7
3. Robin – Year 8

The 3 winning students have all received a Waterstones gift voucher. All other students who sent pictures in will receive merits for their efforts.

The Extreme Reading competition is part of the school’s drive to encourage reading for pleasure.

Competition organisers Mrs Wybourn and Mrs Peace said ‘This is our second year of running a reading competition and we were really pleased with the number of entries from across the whole school as well as the quality too. Our winners should feel very proud of themselves as the competition was extremely competitive this year. We look forward to running another version of this competition next Christmas!’
