Thomas Aveling’s Brilliant Club visits Goldsmiths University
On Friday 19th January, eight Year 12 students visited Goldsmiths University in London. The trip was organised through the Brilliant Club scheme which involves challenging most able students and giving them an opportunity to become familiar with what university life is like as well as receiving recognition for a final assignment graded at university level. The scheme is designed to encourage students to apply to the country’s top Russell Group Universities.
The day involved a tour around the university campus, lectures on skills needed to write at university level and a group tutorial with the students' Brilliant Club mentor. The students enjoyed getting a taste of university life and were enthusiastic towards their tutorial with their mentor Dustin. Students are looking forwarded to their next tutorial sessions in which they will continue to develop their university level writing and their knowledge of the Tudors.
