Mental Health and Wellbeing Roadshow at Thomas Aveling
A Mental Health and Wellbeing roadshow took place at The Thomas Aveling School in November to help to raise mental health awareness amongst Year 11 students.
The North Kent charity MIND visited students and discussed the importance of recognising mental health issues as well as suggesting strategies for the students who have impending exams. Students were also made aware of where to find help in and out of school.
Ms Raffaella Rosina, Deputy SENCo, who helped organise the event said ‘’Year 11 is a tough year for the students with a lot of challenges both at an academic and personal level. We wanted to provide our students with as much information as possible on how they can help themselves lead a healthy lifestyle and where to find support within the school, through local services and online. The students were also given the opportunity to express their voice by making suggestions of which services they would like to be offered.’’
