Vince Maple and Thomas Aveling discuss the 100 Million Campaign
Thomas Aveling students recently spoke to Vince Maple, Leader of Education for the Labour Party in Medway and Martin Ryan, City of Sanctuary for Refugees, about the 100 Million Campaign, which has been set up to give 100 million people in the world an opportunity to a free and safe education. The 100 Million Campaign was set up by Kailash Satyarthi in India in 2016 and aims to support young people who are fighting for their right to an education. It was inspired by ex-child labourers, who have gone to rescue others in need and improve the quality of life for those less fortunate.
Marches such as Bharat Yatra have taken place in India which has seen volunteers marching from the south to the north point of India, with Kailash Satyarthi as their leader.
During the debate topics such as the current problems with education, access to education and solutions that can help solve the problems in the world were discussed.
