Thomas Aveling take part in the Brilliant Club
The Thomas Aveling School have been chosen to take part in the Brilliant Club Scholar Programme.
The aim of the programme is to encourage students to raise their aspirations and aim for top universities.
Twelve Year 9 and 10 students from The Thomas Aveling School attended the launch at the University of Sussex on Thursday 19th October 2017.
Students will now be taking part in 6 tutorials, lead by a PHD student with a final task of writing a university style essay. This year the focus is “Understanding People Power” and include units of work around the Civil Rights Movement, Feminism and Social Protest.
Mrs Job, Pastoral Support and Raising Aspirations Lead said “Our students were really enthused by the theme and can’t wait to start next term!”
