Careers and Enterprise Event at The Thomas Aveling School
The Fort Pitt Thomas Aveling Academies Trust (Fort Pitt Grammar School, The Thomas Aveling School and The Robert Napier School) hosted a careers event at The Thomas Aveling School during the evening on Thursday 28th September 2017.
Students from Years 10 to 13 and their parents/carers were invited to attend and speak to representatives from a wide variety of employment sectors. Employers included Carillion, BT, University of Kent, the Army, BAE systems, Parenta plus many more.
This fantastic opportunity helped to engage students and allowed them to speak directly with employers to find out the different routes into work after education including apprenticeships, entry level jobs and graduate schemes.
Organiser and Assistant Head Teacher Mrs Chew said “We are really pleased with the event and grateful to all the organisations that were able to attend. It’s vital that students are able to make informed decisions and start planning for their future. The event offered many opportunities to speak to employers from engineering, construction and banking as well as further education institutions.”
