Resolute House Celebration Day

Resolute House students and staff celebrated winning the 2016-2017 Thomas Aveling School House Cup in style last week with a Funfair themed afternoon on the sports field.

Resolute put in a consistent effort throughout the school year with excellent behaviour, competition wins and attendance allowing them to finish the school year in a comfortable lead beating Achilles, Cavalier and Victory Houses.

To celebrate the success of the Resolute House, students and staff got themselves the afternoon out of lessons to participate in lots of Funfair games including a Coconut Shy, Tin Can Alley and Sweet Tombola. They also enjoyed a range of activities from a photo booth, bouncy castle, visiting ice-cream van, tug of war and giant inflatable table football with students becoming the players; this proved a huge hit!

Mr Paul Coley, Design and Technology Teacher and Whole School House Co-Ordinator said ‘Thank you to everyone that helped out organising the event, setting up the stalls and running the stalls.  Will Resolute be the winners next year? Or will Achilles, Cavalier or Victory take their place? We cannot wait to find out!’
