Gary Wilson’s Raising Boys' Achievement Speech
On Thursday 21st September Thomas Aveling welcomed one of the national leaders in the field of promoting boys’ achievement, Mr Gary Wilson.
Mr Gary Wilson spoke to staff and parents at two separate talks to highlight the importance of helping boys who may be likely to underachieve. He offered a wide range of strategies for both schools and parents to use to provide great support and encouragement for boys to achieve whilst at school. Many staff and parents left saying that it was one of the best presentations they had seen in a long time.
Mr Lee Preston, Deputy Head teacher said ‘It is a real honour to have someone of Gary’s calibre here to speak with us today. Both teachers and parents have left energised and with several ideas of how they can raise boys’ achievements which we will now work on in the weeks and months ahead’
