Year 8 students have been busy this year!  Students built model volcanoes, carrying on a popular homework project run annually by the Geography department.  The standard this year was incredibly high and Mr Minchin had a tough job picking the winner.  Congratulations to Oliver Spratt, pictured here with his teacher Mrs Reed, who built the winning volcano.  Oliver’s volcano replicates the devastation caused by Mount Pinatubo which unleashed a terrifying pyroclastic flow of ash and rocks.  Mr Minchin explained that this would vaporise anything in its devastating path.   Well done to Max Lee, pictured here with his teacher Mr Jones, who was chosen as the runner up.  Max’s volcano accurately depicted the different layers that build up after many eruptions.
